2023 Spring Convention Student Travel Grants

We hope that you will attend the 2023 Arkansas Optometric Association Spring Convention April 27-29, 2023 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Limited travel grants are available and are on first-come, first-served basis for student doctors who are affiliated members of the AROA.  We suggest that you register and apply for a travel grant as soon as possible.  You may apply beginning January 11, 2023 and March 23, 2023 is the deadline to apply for a travel grant.

Must register by March 23, 2023

Housing is NOT included. You must book your own hotel room.  The ArOA has a room block in the Marriott for $189/night.  Reservations must be made by March 26, 2023.  You are not obligated to stay in the room block. 

To receive your travel grant, you must attend certain functions at the convention.  We have listed the functions below. 

There are two options for 2023 spring convention travel grants – a one-day travel grant or a two-day travel grant.  We hope that this is helpful for managing your schedule with classes.

One-day travel grants are $100

Two-day travel grants are $200

 For one-day travel grant, must attend:

  • Either Membership Meeting on Friday or Awards Luncheon on Saturday.
  • One Student Club Meeting
  • At least one class

(highly encouraged, but not required: exhibit hall & Young OD event after exhibit hall)

 

For two-day travel grant, must attend all:

  • Friday, April 28 12pm-1pm Membership Meeting Lunch
  • Friday, April 28 4-6pm Exhibit Hall
  • Friday, April 28 Young OD Event
  • Friday, April 28 2pm-3pm Student Meeting
  • Saturday, April 28 12pm-1:30pm Awards Luncheon
  • Saturday, April 28  10am-11am Student Meeting
  • At least 2 classes

 

To receive your check:

When you check in at convention registration, you will receive a checklist of events to attend.  Once the checklist is completed, take it to the registration desk for your check.
